SALmonFEST | NINILCHIK, ALASKA
our story
Just your typical big city girl moves to the wilderness and steals the heart of an Alaskan boy love story. We fell in love almost immediately (and moved in together not too long after). We’ve made a wonderful life together here in Alaska and we are excited to continue growing together in Philly come August!

Our wedding day. We are still figuring out logistics but our ceremony will take place on stage during the festival. You will need a Salmonfest ticket to enter. Hang out with us after and enjoy some music!
details details details
We realize getting to Alaska is a long trek for most. We truly appreciate everyone making the journey for our very unconventional wedding! Please reach out to us if you have questions or need help planning anything.
Yes. Anchorage is the closest major airport to Kenai and Ninilchik.
Yes. There are unfortunately no real public transportation options from Anchorage down the peninsula. We recommend renting a car in Anchorage. The drive down is gorgeous!
From Anchorage, it is a 3 hour drive south to Kenai. From Kenai, it is another 45 minutes south to Ninilchik/Salmonfest fairgrounds .
can i camp at salmonfest with the cool kids?
You sure can. Jo and Nate will be staying in an RV from 8/1 to 8/5 in a campsite with friends just up the hill from the festival. Let us know if you plan on camping with us for any of the nights and we will reserve you a spot and help you out with camping gear.
In Anchorage, Air BnB is probably your best bet. We also recommend the Captain Cook, Hilton, or Marriott. If you are not camping at Salmonfest, Kenai, Anchor Point, and Homer are all less than an hour drive from the festival and have BnB options. Homer is the most picturesque town of the 3 and a beautiful place to visit in the summer. We recommend staying at the Land’s End at the end of the Homer Spit. Renting an RV is also a great option and would allow you to stay in a few different places on your drive down.
